Contouring uses darker, cool-toned shades to mimic shadows and define features (like cheekbones and the jawline), and highlighting uses lighter or shimmery shades to reflect light and bring features forward (like the bridge of your nose and top of cheekbones). Face Mapping - Where to Contour & Conceal Face mapping is a makeup technique that identifies key areas of the face where contour should be applied to enhance natural bone structure.
